Todd Agers

Blue Raven's Head Instructor, Sifu Todd Agers, has over 20 years of experience in the system of American Kenpo founded by Edmund Parker. Beginning in 2001, Mr. Agers became a student of Sensei Jose Ponce in Manassas, Virginia. Under Sensei Ponce’s direction, Todd gained the rank of green belt before moving back to Texas in 2003. Subsequently, Mr. Agers became a student and member of the American Kenpo Federation, Austin, Texas’ oldest martial arts school founded in 1973. Under the instruction of Mr. Brian Duffy (a senior black belt under founder Edmund Parker) and Mr. Allen Gowdey, Mr. Agers achieved his first-degree black belt in June 2011. Mr. Agers continued his black belt education under Parker/Planas lineage 3rd-degree black belt, Mr. Troy Wilson, at Curtis Abernathy’s American Kenpo Karate Academy after moving to San Antonio later that year.
Through his journey, Mr. Agers has come to believe in the value of the American Kenpo as a stand-alone fighting system and in how it complements other arts such as Filipino stick fighting, Jui-Jitsu, and many others.
